Fayetteville is an extraordinary city.

With approximately 50,000 military personnel stationed at Ft. Bragg and Pope Field and another 10,000 civilians employed by the military, a total of 60,000 people are employed by the military in an area with a population of 300,000. Not only does the military employ twenty percent of the population, they employ as many people as the population of Greenville, South Carolina.

With an extensive drawdown planned by the U.S. Army for 2015, there are servicemen and women returning to Fayetteville on a regular basis that aren’t sure how to transition into civilian life. According to IT trade industry association CompTIA, while 8.5% of North Carolina’s veteran population is unemployed, merely 2% of veterans working in Information Technology in the Tar Heel State are without work.  The Post-9/11 GI Bill program allows for transitioning servicemen and women to attend school to help prepare them for the career switch.

Carolina Career College of Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill-Fayetteville, a military friendly school approved by the VA, held an Open House at the Courtyard Marriott on Sycamore Dairy Rd. on July 29th to meet our latest potential students. You don’t have to wait for our next Open House – call 919-336-1000 to schedule your tour today.
