MetLife is in Cary, and so are the Jobs
Earlier today, with their signature blimp hovering above, MetLife celebrated the grand opening of its new $125 million global technology campus on Weston Parkway in Cary.
To qualify for a state and local incentive package worth $90 million over the next 12 years, MetLife is required to maintain benchmarks of job creation goals. Today, CEO Steve Kandarian announced the company is six months ahead of its schedule in qualifying for the package, having created 2,600 jobs in Cary and Charlotte before the end of 2015. According to Kandarian, “Our hiring has moved faster than we expected because of the rich talent pool and business friendly environment we have found in North Carolina.”
MetLife has two, seven-story, 213,500 square foot buildings in Cary with space to expand into a third building of the same size. With more than 1,000 technologists in the Cary location and plans to hire more in the coming months, MetLife’s new facility has targeted the highest Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design certification for environmental sustainability and is the lowest cost new administrative office space they operate in the United States.

Representatives from MetLife were at Carolina Career College of Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill on June 10th recruiting students and graduates for positions at the Cary campus.
