Winter Storm? Bad. Job Openings? Good.
It’s that time of year again, when people all over the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area go into annual freakout mode because of an impending storm. It may well be warranted – ice really paralyzes this area of the country. Fortunately, when a growing IT company made its way to the Carolina Career College campus on January 20th with job openings, weather was not a factor.
We held a Career Seminar and Open House the night before. One attendee before the event asked about job openings. Let’s face it – trying to find a job on your own is a miserable venture. And now with as many as 94% of hiring managers at tech companies reporting that they use certifications as part of their hiring process, it’s an extremely challenging hill to climb if you don’t possess the certs.
The growing IT company that visited this week is opening a new building in Morrisville, NC, and in fact is expanding nationwide. One of the things that makes this company so desirable is their ability to provide Information Technology solutions to a variety of industries that don’t have their own IT department. This also means a great breadth of positions has become available. These positions include network engineering, security, data center services, and project support.
This company not only understands the value of certifications, they recognize the value of a Carolina Career College education. How do we know? Multiple recruiters on-site representing the company are graduates from our campus. When a company like this announces they need to fill more than 80 positions as part of a new building expansion, we pay attention – and our students do as well.
At Carolina Career College, Career Services is not just a department – it’s part of the curriculum. We will continue to host both on-campus career fairs, as well as exclusive hiring events for our students. We can’t wait to see which of our students get their start with this amazing company!
